Frozen - The Musical Atlantic city Theatre reviews
The Great, The Good and The Disappointing
Energy was high in the audience for this production based the wildly popular movie and genre. The favorite of "Let It Go" was expertly delivered both in sight and sound. Bravo. Other favorites like "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?", "For the First Time in Forever" and "Love is an Open Door" were fun and reminiscent to the movie version. New songs added were catchy and appropriate. I am not a fan of how the Anna character came off, less princess like and more base.
If you are a "Frozen" purist, you would not like the sequencing of the story on stage as it was altered to fit not sure what, maybe balancing the songs in the two acts.
I personally disliked the "recasting" of the Trolls to "Northern People". The scene at Oakden's Sauna I found personally out of place and disgusting.
Overall, be prepared for these differences and come with an open mind.
The best performances were by Oakden himself and Elsa.
